Rémi Moingeon

Rémi Moingeon was born in Strasbourg, France in 1983. He started his studies in violin at the age of five with the Suzuki method under the tutelage of Madame Delage. When he turned 18, he decided to switch to the viola and began his studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory with Claude Ducrocq, principal viola at the National Orchestra of Strasbourg. As he turned 23, cellist Anssi Karttunen advised him to go to Finland to continue his studies at the Sibelius Academy. His teachers in Finland have included Joukko Mansnerus until 2009 and Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic since January 2010.

Mr. Moingeon has worked as an orchestra musician in the National Orchestra of Chile (2007) and is currently co-soloist at Lahti Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician he has performed together with Focus Ensemble and Stravinsky Ensemble.
