Roberto Forés
Born in Valencia, Roberto Forés studied orchestral conducting in the Accademia Musicale Pescarese with Donato Renzetti and has taken Master Classes from Neeme Jarvi. He earned his Master Degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki under the tutelage of Leif Segerstam, and also studied with Jukka-Pekka Saraste and Jorma Panula.
He has been the principal conductor of Orquesta Clásica de Valencia, leading productions such as “Histoire du Soldat”, “Amahl and the Night Visitors” and “Cosi fan tutte” with Arte Opera productions. He has also conducted “Axur, Re d’Ormus” and “Schauspieldirektor” at Helsinki Conservatory workshop; “La Finta Giardiniera” at the Svenska Teatern of Helsinki; “Clemenza di Tito” and “Andrea Chenier” at the Finnish National Opera, and “Falstaff” at the Opera de Lyon as assistant conductor. He also conducted “La Boheme” at Orvieto Opera Festival.
He has taken part in the International Music Festival of Galicia and has also worked as assistant conductor with Leif Segerstam, Jorma Panula and Gianandrea Noseda. He has conducted among others Spanish Radio-Tv Orchestra, Orquesta de Valencia, Asturias Symphonic Orchestra, Sibelius Academy Symphonic Orchestra, Congress Orchestra of S. Petersburg, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Helsinki Conservatory Orchestra, and Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Pärnu City Orchestra in the David Oistrakh Festival.
In the 2006 edition of the Luigi Mancinelli conducting competition in Orvieto, he was unanimously chosen as the winner and was also awarded the special prize of the jury.
